Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve had a bad experience with a garage before. How do I know I can trust you?

Our reputation is one of trustworthiness. Because we're a family owned, independent garage we rely on customers to come back to us for their services, repairs and MOTs so we go out of our way to look after them. Please check our testimonials and reviews section to see what our customers say about us and if you like what you see, give us a try yourself.

The dealer I brought my car from says I have to get is serviced with them. Is this true?

No. As long as you use a block exemption approved garage, you can service it anywhere. The Government brought in legislation so consumers have more choice when it comes to servicing options. It means you can choose your local garage who know you and are often cheaper than main dealers. Jubilee Garage is a block exemption approved garage.

Are you able to service and repair any make of car and any type of vehicle?

We can service and repair just about any make of car or motorbike, and many larger, commercial vehicles like motorhomes, taxis, limousines, minibuses and vans. We always carry a large selection of stock and can source manufacturer-approved parts quickly if you need something we haven't got in. Even sports and high-performance cars can be accommodated as we have a pit we can use to work on it, as well as several ramps.

My MOT’s not due for a month but I’d like to get it done early. Is that OK?

Yes. Legally you can apply for an MOT up to a month before it needs doing. We can check this date for you or you can see the date at which you can get an MOT for your vehicle on the certificate which comes with the test. Not getting it done isn't allowed though and you could be fined heavily if you get caught.

What are your opening hours?

We open from 8.00am Monday to Friday and close at 6.00pm. On Saturdays, we open between 8.30am and 1pm.

Can I have a courtesy car or van when my vehicle’s in for a service or repairs?

Courtesy cars and vans are available subject to availability, and a small fee for insurance purposes. If you let us know you need a vehicle while yours is here, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Is your work fully guaranteed?

Yes. We guarantee our labour for 3-months and offer a 12-month guarantee on all parts. If a new part supplied by Jubilee Garage fails after 3-months from the date of fitting, labour will still be charged.

Can I wait while you do my MOT, service or repairs?

Our customers are welcome to wait in our comfortable waiting area. There is tea or coffee available and you can listen to the radio or watch TV whilst we look after your vehicle. We have a WC for your convenience too, so you can sit back and relax while you visit the garage.

Will you send me a reminder when my next MOT or service is due?

Jubilee Garage has a fully-computerised system that keeps track of when our customers' MOTs and services are due. Once registered with us, we'll keep your details on file and can send you an email or text to remind you to book.

If my vehicle fails its MOT, do I get a free retest?

Yes, we offer all our customers free MOT retests within 10-working days whether they drive a car, motorbike, van or anything else. We can complete any repairs needed and replace any parts, including tyres, exhausts, wiper-blades and bulbs. We will then retest your vehicle for you completely free of charge and issue you with a certificate.

What do I need to take with me for the MOT?

The only thing you need to bring with you is the vehicle being tested! Our nominated tester will be able to look your vehicle up on the DVSA system to find the existing MOT details and will date the new MOT certificate 12 months from the current due date.
